Yes, it is possible to download the RM/COBOL compiler and runtime for Windows 64-bit. You can visit the official website of RM/COBOL or contact their customer support for more information on how to obtain the software. Good luck with your projects!
I need free instructor's copies of manuals. I have an old one from back in the 80's that I used to teach at GTCC in NC. I plan to get back to teaching part time as my 'retirement' job. I plan to teach 2 or 3 IT classes a quarter with summers off. I've been doing COBOL for 25+ years and I see that most of the new jobs are looking for kids with the newer languages like C++, C#, VB and Java. I also see that most of them want some understanding of the COBOL to be able to convert it to the new stuff. Where can I get a COBOL compiler for PC?

You can download a COBOL compiler from SourceForge. I suggest you try GnuCOBOL (formerly OpenCOBOL) because it's free of charge and easy to install and use. Also, you can try IDE Cobol. If you need a new manual you can find one using Google search engine. Personally, I suggest you check the guides from IBM.
I am an old m/f COBOLer /30+ experience. Mainly in government/insurance work..I taught IT classes for about 7 years in the 80's/90's part time at GTCC college in NC . Mainly COBOL/JCL/SQL. I've already retired once and am close to doing it again. I find the idea of just sitting at home a bit boring and with arthritis I can't golf or motorcycle for long periods of time. I've always told my wife that my 'retirement' job was going to be teaching again part time. 2 or 3 classes a quarter with summers off. In todays market everyone wants younth and new BI tech training, VB/C++/C#....but I have also noticed that they want someone that understands their old COBOL systems. I used to teach RM COBOL on the pc way back when and would like to do it again. My old teacher's manual had a RM COBOL disk in the back. Do you still have such things? Or can you tell me where to look. Thanks, mikc c.

Hi Mike. I still have a set of 5 diskettes we used back in 1999 to install RmCobol version 7. These may be of help to you?
Also, don't know if you know anything about the old runtime licensing, but we are still stuck with this old software, and I am having problems with it thinking there are more users than actually exist at any one time. Thanks
